Sobrante & Upper San Leandro Water Treatment Plants Ozone System Improvements

East Bay Municipal Utility District

This project rehabilitated the Sobrante and Upper San Leandro Water Treatment Plants to improve system reliability as well as the taste and smell of potable water. Work replaced aging infrastructure and increased plant reliability including replacement of the existing air-fed ozone systems with a larger, more reliable and more efficient liquid oxygen-fed systems; and installation of new liquid oxygen tanks, new ozone generators and power supply units, ozone destruct units, new hydrogen peroxide storage and feed systems, new heating and ventilation systems for the ozone building, new control system cables and conduits, and site electrical. Work involved numerous outages and shutdowns that were closely coordinated with plant operations.

Our team provided project management, resident engineering, and construction inspection services for this critical infrastructure project.
