Kirker Pass Road Northbound Truck Lane

Contra Costa County, California

To enhance freight mobility and roadway safety, Contra Costa County advanced a project to construct a northbound truck climbing lane along Kirker Pass Road. The federally, state, and locally funded project widened 1 mile of northbound road from the Concord Pavilion to the northern Hess Road intersection and paved all lanes for 1.6 miles north and south of the widening.

Consor provided construction management and inspection services, overseeing work that included constructing multiple retaining walls to address existing slopes and drainage conditions. In addition to the new truck lane, the pavement rehabilitation helped improve roadway life and driving conditions along this critical corridor.
