Good Neighbor Trail Gap Study
As part of Florida’s Coast to Coast Trail initiative, FDOT District 7 initiated a study to evaluate options for completing a 3.1-mile gap in the Good Neighbor Trail in the Brooksville area. The proposed alignment extends from SR 50 west of Cobb Road to the trail’s current terminus at Main Street and Russell Street. The project’s objective was to improve trail continuity, support regional connectivity, and enhance access to recreational and active transportation options.
Consor led the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study, providing trail alignment and typical section development analysis, bridge structure evaluations, and environmental impact analysis. Environmental services were central to the effort and included the preparation of a Type 2 Categorical Exclusion and a Section 4(f) Determination of Applicability for segments crossing two local parks. The team also supported a public involvement program.
