As PFAS regulations continue to evolve, the challenge of delivering safe, reliable drinking water remains constant. For small systems and individual water users, centralized treatment isn’t always feasible.

“Point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) systems are already in active deployment, offering fast, cost-effective solutions for PFAS removal in the right settings. Understanding when and how to use them can help water providers respond effectively, especially when centralized treatment isn’t feasible,” said Jasmina Markovski, Technical Principal of Water Treatment at Consor.

In her latest article for Water Conditioning & Purification International, Jasmina outlines the appeal of POU/POE filters, how they work, and where they’re best suited—from private wells to small utilities navigating resource constraints.
