Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) Design and Environmental Services
Pueblo of Acoma, New Mexico
Our firm provided transportation design services for this nationally recognized program, which represented the first programmatic use of CM/GC on tribal lands. The program included nine bundled projects that were delivered using CM/GC. This collaborative approach included the owner, designer, construction manager, and independent cost estimator, all of whom were engaged in the project from conceptual design to ribbon cutting. This approach resulted in innovative solutions that accelerated construction, delivered projects significantly under budget, and enhanced quality and long-term sustainability. The nine projects included the following: 5.2 miles of two-lane road reconstruction; two parking lots; two bridge replacements; an intersection improvement; road stabilization; roadway asset inventory and retaining wall repair, as well as overall maintenance plan development; and repair, restoration, and mitigation of FEMA-approved projects. The team delivered this 7-year program in 18 months and generated cost-savings of more than $1 million; these savings were used to reconstruct more two-lane roadway for the Pueblo of Acoma.
