CDOT BUILD Grant for Connected Vehicles – Roadside Unit Deployment

Colorado

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) was awarded $20M via a federally funded BUILD grant for the installation of roadside unites (RSUs) along 450+ miles of key corridors. This field infrastructure is being built out as the next stage in the CDOT connected vehicle program and is integral to the statewide deployment of infrastructure that can collect and transmit critical safety messages between CDOT infrastructure and vehicles. CONSOR recently optimized this entire network, and is preparing installation plans, details, and specifications for more than 600 dual-mode DSRC/C-V2X RSUs. CONSOR is also under contract to provide CDOT with the RSU testing, installation, and integration oversight.
