Murraysmith and Quincy Engineering join CONSOR, Establishing Presence in the West

CONSOR Engineers, LLC (CONSOR) is thrilled to announce the addition of Murraysmith, Inc. (Murraysmith) and its partner company Quincy Engineering, Inc. (Quincy).  Together, our 1,200+ professionals will provide a range of planning, design, structural assessment, and construction services for transportation, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects across more than 60 different locations in the United States.

Founded in 1980 in Portland, Oregon, Murraysmith has deep roots in the Pacific Northwest. With recent growth across Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, and Colorado, the firm is a natural choice to lead CONSOR’s venture into the western United States. Since joining Murraysmith in 2016, Chris Rayasam, President and CEO, has worked with leadership to expand the firm’s geographic footprint and service offerings. In addition to joining forces with several companies, including Quincy Engineering, Aqualyze, Odell Engineering, and Barney & Worth, Murraysmith tripled its workforce, hiring over 230 staff and taking the firm from fewer than 80 staff in 2016 to well over 300 in 2021.

“We’re delighted to welcome Murraysmith and Quincy into the CONSOR family,” commented CONSOR’s Chief Executive Officer Sandeep Patil. “This is a tremendous step for CONSOR in expanding our reach out West, and we couldn’t have found a better partner to lead the way. As we’ve gotten to know Chris and his team, it’s clear there is tremendous alignment in the way we operate, serve clients, and care for our people, and we can’t wait to combine our efforts and build towards our shared vision together.”

“With very little geographic overlap, this partnership is about growth and bringing new possibilities to our team and the clients we serve,” says Rayasam, who will eventually step into the role of Chief Operating Officer at CONSOR. “As CONSOR’s foundation in the West, we will continue to be that local firm our clients value but now with a more diverse set of capabilities, national support, and increased resources. I’m honored to be joining the leadership team in supporting this combined company and believe the sky is the limit for what we can accomplish.”

With a shared vision of strategic growth and autonomy, a commitment to developing and investing in staff, and an unrelenting focus on client service, this partnership provides both firms with a resilient and diversified platform from which to navigate the ever-changing market moving forward.
