Is it possible to gain 55 years of experience in just 34 years? If you ask Mark Reno, he’d say YES! When you pair Mark’s vast project work—beginning with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in 1988—with his can-do attitude and appetite for learning, you’ve got the #bridgeengineering thought leader he is today! 👏 👏

One formative experience for Mark was directing the emergency response efforts at the I-880 Nimitz Freeway collapse following the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.

“It was a project I didn’t expect to tackle, but it shaped my future,” Mark commented. “Through that experience and the many that followed, I learned one important thing—don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. The more you demonstrate your ability to navigate challenges, the more opportunities you will be given.”

Update on one of our 🚧 #underconstruction 🚧 projects! The columns and abutments have been poured—all in one day!—for this bridge replacement that restores connectivity to the area in Merced County. Look closely and you’ll see the black piping that diverts the stream during construction, minimizing impact to the surrounding habitat. 👷‍♀️
